Through cycling seasons and tidal rise & fall rhythms, I tread the same path.

Watching as rockpools fill & drain, echidnas hide & seek.

Snakes alive after winter, and blossoming tea-tree emits a honey scent.

I’ve been missing you, country, but now you have my attention.

I see your patterns. Your changes. I feel the connection.

An isolation that in a way, wasn't isolating at all,

but one of appreciation, introspection, awe.

Dunes time-capsules a slowing down, connection to country and a feeling I don’t want to forget;

a discovery of new in the comfort of old,

peace in the company of the natural world.
