Incandescent and effervescent, KATE SHANASY is an Australian photographer working seasonally between her coastal home on the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne and London.
Known for her ‘slightly undone’ curation and capturing the energy of a moment, Kate’s storytelling leaves space for spontaneity and is driven naturally by the lived experience. The result is romantic, crisp, and candid imagery that aims to be aspirational, yes, while also honest and richly felt.
Born in Melbourne and raised in Hong Kong, Kate leads with a sense of adventure, curiosity and a genuine desire to meet all walks of life; collaborating serendipitously with people she meets along the way.
Kate is a longtime anchor with Broadsheet Media across the Melbourne and London offices and works closely with the National Gallery of Victoria.
